ASI-APVA SEMINAR: SOLAR DEVELOPMENTS IN THE UNITED STATES AND AUSTRALIA
The ASI and the Australian PV Association are hosting a seminar on solar developments in the United States (U.S.) and Australia at the University of NSW on November 1. The seminar is an opportunity to hear from U.S. visitors- Director and Chief Executive of the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Dr Dan Arvizu and Director of Market Development at SunPower Corporation, James Torpey. Leading U.S. researcher and current Professor of Advanced Photovoltaics, School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at UNSW, Professor Allen Barnett, will also present.
ASI SOLAR FORECASTING WORKSHOP
The ASI is hosting a Solar Energy Forecasting Workshop on Friday 11 November 2011 at the International Conference Energy and Meteorology 2011 at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The aims of the workshop are to provide:

An overview of the current status of solar forecasting in Australia including potential gaps and requirements;

An update on current Australian solar forecasting projects and key related activities;

A forum for stakeholder discussion and feedback on priorities for Australian solar forecasting research and development, including the proposed Australian Solar Energy Forecasting System (ASEFS).
