Round 3 Full Application

The ASI received an excellent response to its call for EOIs in Round 3.  Forty-eight EOIs were received from research institutions and industry requesting funding of approximately $76 million to support projects with an aggregate value of $204 million.  The number and quality of EOIs resulted in a highly competitive selection process through the ASI’s Research and Advisory Committee (RAC), with the ASI Board approving approximately 50% of proponents that submitted EOIs to be invited to submit full proposals.  All necessary documents for submission of full proposals can be found here:

Round 3

Round 3 is closed to new applicants.

Key areas of interest include: Storage and hybrid technologies with potential to increase commercial deployment of CSP; Reducing CSP field costs; and Pilot demonstration of prospective CSP technologies.

Through the Round 3 process the ASI has been working with the governments of the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia to identify and support excellent projects in those jurisdictions that match either an ASI or state or territory government priority area noting this is largely around bringing forward the commercial viability of deployment of solar in remote regions of their state / territory.  As with all ASI funding rounds, co-funding from industry and state and territory governments is regarded favourably.

The South Australian Government has released a ‘Framework for a Collaborative Approach to the ASI’s Round 3 Funding Call’, which includes setting aside $1.5 million from its Renewable Energy Fund for collaborative projects with the ASI.
